The Tabernacle epitomizes true perfection in premium cigars. Even the meaning of the name Tabernacle – the Tabernacle sanctuary from the Hebrew scriptures, where the Ark was kept before the construction of the Jerusalem Temple (King Solomon’s Temple), carries a sacred flavor. Tabernacle Havana Seed #142 first appeared at IPCPR 2018 as a continuation of The Tabernacle line. The wrapper is Connecticut Havana Seed #142, grown in the USA. It is extremely rare and unlike any other tobacco in the world. The fermentation process takes at least 3 years, in order to maximally preserve and develop the aromas of the natural oils in the tobacco. The binder tobacco is Mexican San Andrés, the filler is tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa and Jamastran, Nicaragua. The box features the likeness of Haile Selassie, the 225th king of Abyssinia, present-day Ethiopia, a descendant of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. A unique blend, medium to strong profile and predominant notes of cedar, black coffee, spices and natural spicy sweetness.

On a trip to Mexico, Nick Melio, inspired by the land of the Olmecs—the tropical lowlands of the southern Mexican states of Veracruz, Tabasco, and San Andrés Tuxtla—created Olmec in honor of this ancient civilization known as one of the first to consume and cultivate tobacco. One of the best rolling tobaccos – San Andrès – has been grown in its lands since ancient times. For the wrapper leaf of this cigar, just such tobacco was used – San Andrés Claro, which was grown in the rich volcanic soil of the land of the Olmecs. Left to ferment slowly at low temperatures in order to preserve the natural oils that give the unique taste. The filling is made from Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Esteli and Jalapa valleys. After fermentation, these tobaccos are aged for three years before arriving at the production plant. This special aging process helps the leaves develop their unique flavor profile. Medium to strong, with complex notes of espresso, cocoa, cedar and spices.

Translated from Spanish, “Liga Privada” means “private mix”. This name is not accidental, as this cigar was originally made not for commercial purposes, but for the personal humidors of Drew Estate. A boutique blend made from seven types of aged tobacco from seven different plantations. The wrapper leaf is Connecticut broadleaf. The tobacco leaves go through a fermentation process for more than 18 months. After that, the finished cigars are aged for another year before being offered for sale. The result of this long and precise process is a magnificent cigar, medium to strong, with spicy notes of espresso and earthy aromas. They are produced in limited quantities and are deservedly ranked among the top cigars of 2013.

For two years, Drew Estate’s master blenders tried different tobacco combinations before the perfect blend that is emblematic of Liga Privada was born. The process of preparing tobacco for Liga Privada T52 is different and starts with cutting the stem and is called Stalk Cut. Usually each leaf of the tobacco plant is cut and dried for weeks. In T52, the leaf is cut with the entire petiole (the middle part of the plant that holds the leaf). This allows the petiole to provide nutrients to the leaves, even after they are cut during drying, and makes the tobacco leaves richer and fuller. The binder tobacco is Brazilian mata fina, the filler is high quality tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua, and the wrapper is Connecticut Habano Oscuro. Medium to strong with hints of black pepper and spices.

Undercrown is a creation of the ingenuity and passion of Drew Estate Torcedores. Made from the same rare tobaccos as Liga Privada, but with different vintages and fillings. The wrapper is dark, shiny and smooth Mexican San Andrés Negro, the binder tobacco is T52 Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut and Cured Habano, and the filler is selected Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan Cuban Seed tobaccos. This cigar is medium to strong, balanced with delicate aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and black pepper.
