The blue packaging design pays tribute to the vibrant shades of the Honduran flag, while the Roman numerals on the secondary band mark 2025, the year of its debut, signaling a bright future for My Father in Honduras.
The Connecticut Broadleaf Rosado wrapper, unique in itself, offers an exciting and complex flavor experience. The binder and fillers are entirely Honduran, grown at Finca La Opulencia — the García family’s first plantation in Honduras, located in Talanga.

The Atabey brand was officially introduced in 2010, founded by Nelson Alfonso, world famous for his projects such as the branding of Habanos cigars, the design of the 50th anniversary humidor for Padron and many others. He has the talent to make extremely good blends. Atabey cigars are admirable, the wrapper is an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade with perfect smoothness and a slight satin sheen, the construction is perfect, the flavor profile is complex, with a wide range of aromas of cedar, pepper, nuts, cocoa and light floral undertones. These cigars go through a rigorous aging process. For five years, they are left to “rest” in a room lined with five different types of cedar (Cuban, Spanish, Lebanese, Brazilian and Mexican) in a variable range of humidity, thus taking on the unique cedar aromas. They are produced in Costa Rica in very limited quantities and can only be purchased in a few stores around the world that are certified by the manufacturer. Atabey cigars are named after the mother goddess of the Taínos Indians, the indigenous people who occupy much of the Caribbean islands.

La Antiguedad (translated The Antiquity) was introduced in 2014, thus the Garcia family shows the inherited craftsmanship in making premium cigars. Don Pepin García uses specially selected tobaccos grown on My Father’s farms from traditional Cuban seeds. The interior of these cigars is made from fillings from three areas in Nicaragua – San Rafael, Las Quebradas and San Jose – private farms of the Garcia family. Nicaraguan double bond tobaccos – one Criollo, the other Corojo aged for a minimum of three and a half years. Wrapped in a perfect Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper with a unique slightly reddish color. A medium to strong cigar with an elegant pressed shape and memorable aromas of chocolate, roasted coffee beans, leather and pepper.
