Drew Estate is known for making unconventional cigars. So is Kentucky Fire Cured Fat Molly, a creation of Jonathan Drew and Steve Sacca, who decided to use so-called fire-cured tobacco. These are tobacco leaves that are dried and aged in rooms where they are smoked by burning different types of wood, oak, maple, etc. for several days or weeks, the tobacco leaves thus dried are enriched with smoky and woody aromas. Drew Estate took over two years to complete the blend and perfect these unique cigars. They contain aromatic Kentucky and Virginia fire-cured tobaccos in a combination of Nicaraguan and Brazilian fillers, precisely wrapped in a Mexican San Andres wrapper (wrapper leaf), which gives them a wonderful earthy nuance. Translated from Spanish, “Liga Privada” means “private mix”. This name is not accidental, as this cigar was originally made not for commercial purposes, but for the personal humidors of Drew Estate. A boutique blend made from seven types of aged tobacco from seven different plantations. The wrapper leaf is Connecticut broadleaf. The tobacco leaves go through a fermentation process for more than 18 months. After that, the finished cigars are aged for another year before being offered for sale. The result of this long and precise process is a magnificent cigar, medium to strong, with spicy notes of espresso and earthy aromas. They are produced in limited quantities and are deservedly ranked among the top cigars of 2013.

For two years, Drew Estate’s master blenders tried different tobacco combinations before the perfect blend that is emblematic of Liga Privada was born. The process of preparing tobacco for Liga Privada T52 is different and starts with cutting the stem and is called Stalk Cut. Usually each leaf of the tobacco plant is cut and dried for weeks. In T52, the leaf is cut with the entire petiole (the middle part of the plant that holds the leaf). This allows the petiole to provide nutrients to the leaves, even after they are cut during drying, and makes the tobacco leaves richer and fuller. The binder tobacco is Brazilian mata fina, the filler is high quality tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua, and the wrapper is Connecticut Habano Oscuro. Medium to strong with hints of black pepper and spices.

Undercrown is a creation of the ingenuity and passion of Drew Estate Torcedores. Made from the same rare tobaccos as Liga Privada, but with different vintages and fillings. The wrapper is dark, shiny and smooth Mexican San Andrés Negro, the binder tobacco is T52 Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut and Cured Habano, and the filler is selected Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan Cuban Seed tobaccos. This cigar is medium to strong, balanced with delicate aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and black pepper.

Jonathan Drew and his team have worked for over five years to create Tabak Especial. They are made from a blend of rich Nicaraguan Criollo long-filler combined with aromatic Sumatra binder tobaccos. Wrapped in a smooth, dark brown Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that has been aged for two years. They feature rich, warm aromas of premium Nicaraguan coffee and spices infused with tobacco leaves. Blenda is a creation of Don Pepin Garcia, made from Corojo \’99 binder (binder tobacco) from Nicaragua and Nicaraguan long fillers from Habano and Criollo leaves. Unlike other cigars produced by the world-famous brand of the Garcia family, this is a soft but full-bodied cigar, with a velvety taste and delicate earthy aromas.
